Spanish update

We are learning how to say the seasons and feelings in Spanish. This past week we talked about how to use the questions words in Spanish. Some of those are Qué/what, Quién/who, cómo/how. Third and fourth graders are forming sentences using the question words. Try to ask your child what their favorite song is Spanish class is. And, enjoy singing along with them. Spanish con Señora Mitchell

Hola amigos, We are so excited to have you all join us this year. Spanish runs for 30 minutes twice a week. This is my 23rd year teaching in Ladue. The students are amazing and so fun to teach Spanish to. In Kindergatten we are learing the colors, numbers, greetings and some animals. In First grade we are learing about the world around us and understanding how to communicate with friends in Spanish. In Second grade we are learning all of the above and so much more. We discuss why we are learning to speak in Spanish. And, why it is fun to communicate wtih our friends in Spanish. And, we are enjoying some fun games while speaking in Spanish. In Third and Fourth grade we are creating complete sentences while speaking in Spanish. We sing many many songs in all levels. You may hear your sweet kiddo come home with a cute song or two. Please encourage the singing as we are always trying to continue the language outside of the classroom. Buenas Tardes Familias de Spoede, Welcome back to school!! We are so excited to continue learning Spanish together. Kindergarten and First graders are simging along to our greetings music and communicating with our friends. Second -Fourth graders are reviewing our previous learning from last season.
