Hola amigos
We are learning tons and enjoying learning Spanish. Ask your child about our good bye song and how we can tell the year/2015 in Spanish. Hoy es....
We are also discussing a few celebrations that are celebrated in Mexico. Mr. Boland will be creating a cool project with the 4th graders, while we discuss the meaning behind The Day of the Dead and what it looks like in Mexico. The students enjoyed listening to the story in Spanish.
In the rest of the classes we are still practicing our old vocabulary and adding new words to our everyday Spanish language.

¡Hola Amigos!
Welcome back from your verano!! I can't believe we are already back at school(la escuela)!!
I am now teaching all grades and all students! We will be talking about our rules and getting used to a typical day in Spanish.
We are reviewing our Spanish verbs and discussing what everyone did this summer. Of course, in kindergarten we are learning each others names and colors in Spanish.

SUMMER IS NEAR...El VERANO!!
Please practice your books and continue to review your already learned vocabulary. Use the book as a resource for extended Spanish knowledge and keep that brain remembering what we have used in our classroom. I will be excited to see what you all have retained during the summer/verano.

It is almost the end of school. We are focusing on our libros and are excited to finish our workbooks and send them home in MAY/Mayo. It is very important to continue to practice your already learned vocabulary and not forget what we have learned. There are many ways you can practice during your days at home or on vacation. The books have a wonderful picture dictionary and written dictionary in the back. Please refer to them and use them all the time when you are out and about with your family.
The more you practice the better you will become at "hablando en espaƱol".....you can also listen to books online that are in Spanish.
Here are some of the numbers we are using in our classes right now.
10-diez
20-veinte
30-treinta
40-cuarenta
50-cincuenta
60-sesenta
70-setenta
80-ochenta
90-noventa
100-cien

In first grade, we are reviewing the difference between the verbs COMPRAR/to buy and LLEVAR/to bring while we use our Ropa/clothing vocabulary to form complete sentences.
In second grade, we are focusing on the verb TENER/to have and trying to understand when we use it properly.
Third graders are, understanding when to use MIS/my plural and TUS/your plural in their sentences correctly.
Fourth graders are enjoying conjugating all their verbs in the singular and plural format. We are also, continuing to use our reading and comprehension skills in Spanish.
