Septiembre

Hola amigos,

We are working hard on learning our vocabulary and keeping our brain knowledgable in Spanish.  All classes sing our songs together.  At the start of each lesson we sing a greetings song, then a  day of the week song, then what is your name song, then how are you feeling song and finally a where are you from song.

There is a reason why we learn to sing these particular songs.  In singing and learning these songs, it not only helps our communication skills with a Spanish speaker; but also teaches our most of our daily vocabulary we use.

Some of those vocabulary words are days of the week, months of the year, colors, and about Spanish speaking countries and their capitals.

Stay tuned for QR codes to be coming home soon.  With the QR codes you will be able to actually listen to your child speaking in Spanish.

Gracias,
Señora Mitchell

Here are a few of our questions your child may answer you in Spanish. Once we get the QR codes completed you can hear your child asking the questions below to their classmates.

¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?, ¿Qué día es hoy? ¿Cómo estás?, ¿Cómo te llamas? ¿Cómo te sientes? ¿Dónde vives tú?

Hola amigos and welcome back!!!!

Hola amigos,

I hope you all had a great summer and are ready to return to more Spanish fun and learning.

We will have more learning going on by using our workbooks and creating our vocabulary lists that we use all year long.  We will also, enjoy singing some our favorite songs in Spanish.  Soon we will be creating an "all about me" poster in Spanish.  Stay tuned for that to come home. Please if you ever have any questions or concerns feel free to email me or call the school to connect with me.  I am happy to spread the love of learning Spanish.

Hasta pronto,

Señora Mitchell :)

¡ Feliz Febrero!

Hola amigos,

We are working on many of our vocabulary words and having fun.  In kindergarten we are reading and saying our verbs compare/buy, le gusta/  to like, lleva/wear, into complete sentences.  We also enjoy sining our songs like "Los Colores. " In first grade we are also singing our favorite song called "Los Colores" and forming sentences while speaking in Spanish.

In second grade we are understanding the verb TENER/to have and when to use it correctly.   In third grade we are trying to complete our libros/books so we can finish them and take them home in May.  In fourth grade, we do all of the above and more.  We put our sentences together using singular and plural verbs while using the correct verb tense.

¡Hasta pronto !

¡ Hola Noviembre !

Hola Padres,

Please review the songs with your students. It helps to listen to the song and sing along with your child.  We sing a lot in our Spanish class.  I feel it is a great way to get kids excited along with learning and memorizing our Spanish vocabulary.

I am putting our songs together in an audio file, so we can all sing along together.

¡Hasta Pronto!

Señora Mitchell

¡Bienvenidos del verano 2018!

Hola amigos nuevos y no muy nuevos,

We are learning our summer vocabulary and sharing out with our friends. This year we are speaking in class 99% of the time in Spanish.  We are enjoying this experience and singing many new songs we have learned along the way.   Please ask your child to sing a few songs.  Research shows the earlier we are exposed to a second language, the more opportunity we will have to carry it on into our adults lives. Please ask your child to share with you what they are learning about in Spanish.  I am always happy to help if your child needs more review.

Hasta pronto amigos:)

Señora Mitchell :)

Hola

¡Hola amigos!

Hi friends welcome to the months of Abril and Mayo.  We are working hard to keep our brains thinking in Español.  We are trying to finish up our Spanish workbooks.  At the end of Mayo/May we will end up taking our Spanish workbooks home.  The books are a great resource to use while at home to keep our minds thinking in Spanish.  Please feel free to email me with any questions or if you are looking for ideas on how to keep your Spanish alive while on summer break:)

¡Gracias !
