¡Hola Amigos!

Hola,

I cannot believe it is already Diciembre.  WOW.....el tiempo paso muy rápido.

We are working on some activity packets in third and fourth grades.  You may have seen some of these packets go home.  I hope so.  All classes get a newsletter from me once a month and the activities we do in class will go home on Friday's along with the rest of Friday folder work.  If your child is not receiving the work we do in class please send me an email with the classroom teacher attached. I am more than happy to send work home for more Spanish practice.

In the 3rd and 4th grade packets we have been working on  ¿Cómo the llamas? What is your name? ¿De donde eras? Where are you from? ¿Dónde gives? Where do you live?

This week we are focusing on a family packet that includes some of our extended family.  Ask your child how to say mom or father.  With is being close to family time, we thought learning how to say most of our family in Spanish would come in handy.

If you are looking for more practice please visit tumble books, or email me for more activities that can be done at home.

Hasta pronto :)

¡Feliz Octubre!

Hola amigos y padres,

It is October and we are having a miedoso time:)

In kindergarten we are reading and saying our verbs TENER/to have into complete sentences.  Some of our words are casa/house, cams/shirt, zapatos/shoes, bicicleta/bike, pelota/ball, lápiz/pencil, pastel/cake and the new verb juega/to play.

First graders are, learning about the use of the verb le gusta/to like and the use of the word DE(belongs to). We are working hard in our workbooks.

Second grade we are learning to use the yo and tú in the correct form.  Yo means I and tú means you...we form complete sentences and have small conversations with our classmates using the yo and tú correctly. We also, form yes and no questions.

Third graders, are understanding the correct use of transportation words and how to ask for information or how to give information out in Spanish.

Fourth graders are enjoying taking a virtual trip to Spain while listening to Spanish speakers and exploring the city. A big thing we cover in 4th grade is the correct use of our verbs in the plural form.

Please feel free to email me with any questions or comments you may have:)
¡Hasta Noviembre !

Septiembre

Hola amigos,

We are working hard on learning our vocabulary and keeping our brain knowledgable in Spanish.  All classes sing our songs together.  At the start of each lesson we sing a greetings song, then a  day of the week song, then what is your name song, then how are you feeling song and finally a where are you from song.

There is a reason why we learn to sing these particular songs.  In singing and learning these songs, it not only helps our communication skills with a Spanish speaker; but also teaches our most of our daily vocabulary we use.

Some of those vocabulary words are days of the week, months of the year, colors, and about Spanish speaking countries and their capitals.

Stay tuned for QR codes to be coming home soon.  With the QR codes you will be able to actually listen to your child speaking in Spanish.

Gracias,
Señora Mitchell

Here are a few of our questions your child may answer you in Spanish. Once we get the QR codes completed you can hear your child asking the questions below to their classmates.

¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?, ¿Qué día es hoy? ¿Cómo estás?, ¿Cómo te llamas? ¿Cómo te sientes? ¿Dónde vives tú?

Hola amigos and welcome back!!!!

Hola amigos,

I hope you all had a great summer and are ready to return to more Spanish fun and learning.

We will have more learning going on by using our workbooks and creating our vocabulary lists that we use all year long.  We will also, enjoy singing some our favorite songs in Spanish.  Soon we will be creating an "all about me" poster in Spanish.  Stay tuned for that to come home. Please if you ever have any questions or concerns feel free to email me or call the school to connect with me.  I am happy to spread the love of learning Spanish.

Hasta pronto,

Señora Mitchell :)

¡ Feliz Febrero!

Hola amigos,

We are working on many of our vocabulary words and having fun.  In kindergarten we are reading and saying our verbs compare/buy, le gusta/  to like, lleva/wear, into complete sentences.  We also enjoy sining our songs like "Los Colores. " In first grade we are also singing our favorite song called "Los Colores" and forming sentences while speaking in Spanish.

In second grade we are understanding the verb TENER/to have and when to use it correctly.   In third grade we are trying to complete our libros/books so we can finish them and take them home in May.  In fourth grade, we do all of the above and more.  We put our sentences together using singular and plural verbs while using the correct verb tense.

¡Hasta pronto !
